What do you do if someone decides to follow you on Twitter? - surferchick - 11-22-2012 04:54 AM

I'm new to Twitter and people have started following me and I'm just wondering what do I do? Do I reply to them and be like thanks for the follow? or what? What do you guys do? If anyone could give me like an overview of what to do that would be great thank you!

If you want he does not follow you, when you are on someone's Twitter page, you can click the "Block" link under the "Actions" section.

Hope it helps you. Now by that time he will not able to follow you.

It is not common for you to thank someone for the follow because you can get a lot of followers real quick. If you do thank people for the follow more common to send a Thank You via Direct Message (and even this is not common practice). A better way to thank them is to engage in their conversation via the @ tag and to RT tweets you like and want to share.

Another aspect is whether to follow them back. It is simply your choice to follow them back. A lot of the power users follow people in hopes you follow them back but I find they often won't listen back so it is more a one way street. You shouldn't feel that you have to follow everyone back that follows you. Only follow people that you want to listen.
