I follow someone who doesn't follow me back, yet they sent me a direct message. How is this possible? I thought to DM you had to follow eachother?

Twitter right? It's basically you follow X, and X can send you DM's, but you can't send X DM's until X follows you

They have an auto message bot - when you follow them, the bot registers it & sends you a message
