I want to start up my own online Hobby shop. What degree should I do? - ht Freerider - 11-27-2012 06:25 AM

Looking to start a second career. I've worked in a hobby shop in the past. I want to start my own.
I'm looking to do a degree

You can start an online hobby shop -- even without a degree.

But if you must, a general degree in Business with focus on Entrepreneurship will be an excellent start. Some colleges now offer Ecommerce degrees as well, so that is something you can consider.

Web programming is also important so you can easily customize and add features in your ecommerce store without breaking the bank hiring programmers

If there's a course in Online Marketing, specifically search engine optimization or social media, those will be useful as well

But really, anyone can start an online hobby shop. You don't need a degree to do it

I like the first answerer's answer. You don't need a degree, but some business courses would help. If you do want a degree, get a business degree that focuses on entrepreneurship.
