I'm going to college and was going to take either paralegal or marketing but I'm still not all the way sure what marketing is, what do you learn in these courses?

There is different versions of marketing. Could be online marketing such as SEO, SEM, Social Media marketing, behavioral marketing, etc. It could be offline marketing, such as sales, direct mail marketing, etc. If you're ok with face to face interaction, go with offline marketing. If you're not comfortable with face to face and you're comfortable with computers, I would suggest online marketing.
