you tweet by typing in the box and clicking 'tweet'- to add a photo click the camera button to browse your file and attach it (as you would an email)
If you see a tweet you like you can hover over it and click favorite, or alternatively click retweet- this will also mean its displayed on your profile.
to follow people type their username into search bar and click the follow button their profile
It pretty simple when you know how it works
