How do I get my friends to follow me? I've had an account for about one week now and I'm following 170 people and only have 57 followers. It's pathetic! I've tried retweeting and making their tweets my favorite so they notice me but that didn't work. I posted "follow me on twitter" on facebook which also didn't work. What do I do?

You need to see that many people don't have the same amount of followers as following. Really? To me who cares. It's not pathetic. Are you afraid that you have less people that like you than you are following?
But if you really want random people following you than you can just join those follow for follow twitter pages and try and get your name out there.

Dude. What you do is that you click follow. That's it you just click follow and in a instant you become friends.

Try advertising other places. Forums, social networks (you already did facebook), and Blogs. Never a bad idea to search for commentluv premium blogs and advertise there (they let you post your twitter usename). You could also ask your current followers for a shoutout or join follow4follow groups.
