What should I do/post on Twitter? - Lucie - 11-27-2012 06:35 AM Okay, I know I might sound like a total dork, but I've just got a new Twitter account, and I've got no idea how the @ and # work. Someone please help? Thank you in advance. - LOL - 11-27-2012 06:43 AM When you @ a user, you're mentioning them..like directing at them. "#" is called hashtagging .. so when you put #love, & post it, the "#love" will be a link you can click & when you click on it, it'll show all the posts that everyone on twitter tagged with #love .. it's a kind of sorting system. Post whatever you want! What your'e doing, song lyrics, quotes, etc. - Twins - 11-27-2012 06:43 AM you use @ to talk to another person on twitter, be it a friend, someone you don't know or a celebrity. they will then receive a notification that you have 'mentioned' them. the # means that you hashtag a word. for example #twitter becomes a link that you can click, it will direct you to every twitter post that has #twitter in it. enjoy twitter and follow me |
