How can your father claim it if it was bought by someone else? What is the 'official paper of purchasing'. You either have a contract note or a certificate in your father's name. If you haven't got either of those you have had it.

If they are transferred to your father's name then what is the problem.
Is lotus Inc. listed company? or the the company has changed its name.
are they quoted on any stock exchange? Does your father's name
appears on the back of the share certificate mentioned as duly
transferred.

I think the company of the same name is in Hyderabad or Coimbatore
You will get address just write in http://www.google.com name of the company
you will get all the particulars including phone number enquire their
about change in name..

I think your father was ripped off, there are no such company or if it where they may have gone bankrupt by now and the shares would be worthless, what you can do is go to a bank or a broker and see what they say.
