What can you call it when I'm obsessed with being connected with the world? - Chris J - 11-27-2012 06:35 AM

I'm a entertainer/actor and for the last 4 years I feel like my life could not be fulfilled unless I could be connected with people around the world somehow. Have it be they see me in movies around the world. I'm on TV, I have a mass Twitter following, and I am pretty much a household name. Is there a term for what I want?

I'm not selfish. I just think I was meant to touch people and won't be fulfilled until I'm doing this.

Any info or opinions are appreciated. Thanks!
Damm I didn't say I was already a household name. What I meant is that I feel like I feel empty inside until I reach a status like that of a household name. My dad deals with the same obsession and he still does throughout his whole life. I'm working on reaching that status and I'm aware I'm not "a celebrity" its just so dis-heartning when the odds are against you to succeed and you are away from your family and by yourself chasing THE DREAM. Geez you guys are harshhhhhh

Sounds to me like you live to be a role model you want to help people and have them look up to you

You have a "mass" twitter following, you are an actor, you are a "household name" what more could you possibly want? - Snap out of the obsession you're not Tom Cruise, yet.

CJ, you know you're not being honest with us here about being a 'household name' and all. Being an extra in a few student films and TV episodes doesn't make you a household name, especially when most of them are uncredited non-speaking roles. ;-) You know you leave a trail on the internet behind you, right?

So: a need to be noticed, delusions of grandeur, a pathology to lie to strangers?

Histrionic Personality Disorder. That's what you call it.

edit to add, lol, I just checked your Twitter, You have one (1) follower... Yeah, I think my diagnosis will prove correct.
