The media is corrupt.
Joe Scarbougo (SP) said to Conservatives, "Yes, the media is bias. Get over it!"

The media is supposed to challenge an administration not crawl into bed with them.

What is your favorite snack food? Where did you get that great tie? These were the questions asked of the senator when he was running for the most powerful job ion the world!

CORRUPT AND LIARS!

YOU REALLY SHOULD DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH/HOMEWORK.

To actually answer your question. The media played and still plays an essential role in how Americans view the US and its government. Political views and policies are mainly communicated through the written and visual media. The development of internet has played a mayor role in this as well, especially the development of social media like fb and twitter have contributed to this. Most politician have their on fb and twitter account and share their views and opinions through this media. And can you imagine a political campaign without advertisements? Exactly.
