iPod touch wont turn on? - Kellieeeee - 11-27-2012 06:48 AM

Recently I updated to iOS 6 and I have noticed my iPod was crashing a lot, but yesterday my twitter app stopped working properly so tonight I deleted it and tried to re-install it but it wouldn't work. So I turned off my iPod and now its stuck on the apple logo and won't turn on OR off. I've tried everything I could find, and most things involve me turning the iPod off and pressing the home button, but I cannot turn the iPod off as it comes straight back on to the apple logo again. Does anyone know what I should do? I also don't have it backed up because it happened so unexpectedly and I dont want to lose all my pictures and videos. Sad
Please help!

btw it's the 4g.

If you haven't backed up then it's quite likely that you may have lost your pictures / video etc.

First thing to try is connecting it to your computer with USB cable and hoping it connects to iTunes. Make sure your iTunes is up to date. Sometimes this will kick start your iPod and if it is recognised then I'd back up all of your media straight away and perform a restore. Something on your unit has become unstable.

If this doesn't work you'll have to try a restore - doing this means you will lose all of your data. To restore if iTunes recognises the iPod but tells you that I needs to perform a restore then do this.

However If your computer/iTunes doesn't recognise the iPod you will need to try and force the unit into DFU mode. Search google for iPod DFU and follow one of the tutorials. If your finding it difficult to force into DFU a couple of other methods sometimes work. Turning off and then holding both the home and power buttons for 10 seconds or turning off, holding home button and at the same time as you hold the home button plug in the cable to the bottom of the unit. Contine to hold down the home button until the restore your iPod screen appears on your iPod.

Hope one of these solutions works for you.
