How to regain parents trust? - Sally - 11-27-2012 06:53 AM

My parents are really against me having a Twitter and Facebook... just that kinda stuff. But when I turned 13 I made a Twitter without them knowing. When my mom found out (by googling my name) she got really mad and I feel awful. (It just now happened and i am in my room scared to talk to her) WHAT DO I DO?

Just tell her that you made it a long time ago because you wanted to know what it was like, and that it was the wrong thing to do and that you are really sorry. She will probably start yelling at you, but just let her. Don't interrupt her -- let her get all the way through her yelling. Also, make eye contact with her when she is yelling at you so that she thinks that you are taking her seriously. Don't laugh, smirk, sigh, or roll your eyes. When you talk to her after she is done yelling at you, maintain a calm, quiet voice (don't raise it), don't be sarcastic, and don't sound annoyed. Tell her that she is right and that you were wrong, and that you are really sorry. If she continues to yell out you, start crying because it usually makes parents calm down a bit.
In summary, be respectful and act genuine / sincere when she is talking to you and when you are talking to her, and cry if you need to.
Another thing that may help is if you hand-write her a card apologizing to her.
Hope this helps!
