I have one account where I have almost 60 followers but I started a new one for quotes and song lyrics. http://twitter.com/InTheMindOfAsh
I make most original quotes but there are song lyrics and other unoriginal quotes in the mix.
But seriously, how do I get followers? >.<

Promote it on another website or have your friends from facebook add you.

Just tweet a lot of cool things that people would retweet.
Talk to people and be friendly.
Follow people also, most of users follow back.
