okay, i already in a way no how to follow people, just click follow, but when you get on my page, it says im not following anyone. how come

I wish somebody would explain the point of "following" people on Twitter. What does it achieve?

why do you need to or have the urge to follow people on twitter? what makes their minute activities so interesting that you need to know? for example, why should you care if the person you're following drank coke and had the longest burp?
