The walking dead - Why did Shane die? - Adam - 11-27-2012 07:00 AM

If any of you watch the walking dead series, you should know shane died at the end of season 2, and I was just wondering why would he die so early in the show? They're probably going to have another 8 or more seasons, and Shane won't be in any of them, well atleast I think. But what I wanted to ask was, why did shane have to die? Was he fired from the show so they had to kill him? Did he want to quit? Was this part of the story and he was going to die no matter what? Is he going to come back to life or as a zombie? If you have any answers or what you think please tell me.

Because he's not alive anymore.

Because that was the script

Honestly, his character needed to die, he was the evil antagonist of the story. There will be another one to follow though, don't worry. At the end of the season, it looked like the other guy was following right in his footsteps.

But in general, tv entertainment is getting to the point where shows and networks are doing everything they can to up the stakes, as the fight over fractions of a fraction of viewer ratings. I think that is what it boils down to. People like violence.

As far as the circumstances on why the actor himself left the show, I do not know if there was anything more to it than the dramatic story line.

Because they're trying to remain somewhat true to the books. He gets shot by copdaddy fairly early on in them.

He had to die because he was a punk b!tch homewrecker.

They had plans for him to die much earlier but delayed those plans. He also had another job to go to.

You can follow Glen Mazzara on Twitter, (head writer/producer of the show). He often answers questions.
