A few years ago it was msn but no one seems to use it anymore; what program do people use, aside from Facebook chat?

The ones who used MSN for the most part were all 90's kids. (Including me)
However we have all grown out of that and started using Facebook Messenger, but since you wrote aside from that; we also use Twitter to tweet each other short msgs/questions/comments/replies etc.
Most people also use the Kik messenger available on most smartphones that I know of. Text messaging is also really popular (obviously, lol.) Some people also use Skype though mainly for videocalling.
