Fundraising for People to People? - A girl... - 12-03-2012 11:33 PM I have to fundraise roughly $7000 by early spring to participate in this program and I have some questions about how I would do that. First off, since the holidays are coming up, what are some things I could sell? My friend thought I could make some sort of holiday gift basket, but what would I put in it? Another question I have is, would I need some type of special permission to sell/fundraise in front of public places like supermarkets or malls? Thanks so much in advance If you have any other ideas on how I could raise money I would really love to hear them, or if you've done People to People before, how did you raise the money? - Person - 12-03-2012 11:41 PM you could put cookies, jewelry, candles, soaps, chocolate i sold candy bars. i bought huge packages from costco and sold them, but i think i only made a few hundered...if it gets warm before you need the money you could sell lemonade or do car washes. You could put a twist on the classic lemonade stand and sell hot chocolate when it is cold. - skypod - 12-03-2012 11:41 PM I'm sorry to have to tell you, but StudentAmbassadors.org aka PeopleToPeople.com are overpriced travel agents. Everyone got a Direct Mail ad disguised as a "special invitation," and attended their sales pitch disguised as an "interview." http://nytimes.com/2009/04/19/education/edlife/leadership-t.html?pagewanted=all http://consumeraffairs.com/news04/2009/05/p2p_hill.html Either way, read some reviews before deciding: http://bbb.org/eastern-washington/business-reviews/travel-escorts/ambassador-programs-inc-in-spokane-wa-5000902 http://ripoffreport.com/directory/People-To-People.aspx http://scambook.com/company/view/7455/People-to-People-Student-Ambassador-Programs |
