When you go to Twitter and click on 'Discover' you will be able to see who people you're following has followed/favourited/retweeted. This means that other people are able to see my activities as well. Is it possible to hide those activies so nobody can see what I retweet/favourite and who I follow? If so, how?

You need two accounts... or more even. There's no other way to really keep one side of you genuinely and reliably segregated from another - even if social networking systems tell you they have settings for that, you can't rely on it.
Hardest job on the internet is managing that kind of thing until you realise you can use completely separate accounts for your public side and your bitchy/creepy/weird sides
(or even for practical reasons that don't include bitchy/creepy/weird)
