You should change passwords frequently to prevent hacking.

There are several reasons for anyone to change passwords, so just ask him.
- computer advice says to change passwords regularly to avoid hacking attacks
- computer advice says NOT to share passwords with anyone, even a current relationship
- the previous password may have been too simple (short, or not enough variety in characters)
- the accounts may have been hacked in some way, and password changes are the only cure
- you might be too curious. Passwords are for privacy.

Changing passwords doesn't mean he is hiding something from you
but from everyone else,that's what a password is for.
You should change yours as well see if he worries about it.
