I have a website where stories are submitted by users. I want to have a page where the best stories are displayed and I do not want to be the one deciding which ones are the best. So I was thinking to add a Facebook like button next to each post and the ones having the most likes would be displayed there. Do you know how to go about this issue?

I have the facebook like button integrated on my website as seen here.

On facebook you can find the code to intergrate the button. Once you've done that, you just need to add the code into your themes files.
