I need help with this question pleasee.? - Mimi - 12-07-2012 05:12 AM

I apply to Caribbean Medical School. But they are asking me for my college transcript. I am a sophomore now. But the last 2 two quarter I went into depression that dropped down my grades and I got dismissed from college.. Because of this pakistani guy who was in my college. Who I liked alot. He would text and facebook chat with me and he liked my entire prom album. In college I would wave at him when I saw him. He played with my emotions and said to me I'm engaged since childhood with my cousin and leave me alone. After that I went into depression and my head started hurting everyday. Also I am born hydrocephalus. That guy also told my mom that I was bothering him and he blocked me from facebook. I begged him to unblock me and text me back. But he didn't and that hurted me badly. So there is this medical school interview question: If you feel like your academic record and/or background is somewhat unusual, please state to the Board of Admissions a concise explanation of your path towards medicine.

So I explain them how my grade dropped badly. So should i skip this question. But I want to be hones and precise with them. Because I really want to be a doctor Sad

I would submit them anyway. You never know what kind of person may analyze them. It could be a person with a light heart that will give you a chance. If they reject you. Make better grades and resubmit them later.

You should answer the question because they will wonder why your grades have dropped. However, do not say because you were depressed because a guy did not like you back. EVERYONE has relationship problems or has been treated "badly" at one point or another. The problem you have here is a self control one and not a real dire situation. If you mention this crazy story they will not think you are fit to be a doctor. What will happen if years from now, you are set to operate on 10 people just after your husband files for divorce? Will they want you to jeopardize people's lives as you have done your grades? Absolutely not! Use another explanation as to why your grades dropped.
