Why do I feel envious when other people have tons of facebook likes? - Gooner dinho - 12-08-2012 12:39 PM

I mean I rarely post on facebook anymore but when I see a post with 10 +likes I feel depressed because I feel that person is liked (literally, not facebook likes) more than me, I have had issues with depression and insecurity in the past and also probably at the moment too.

I feel the same way. Tongue The fact is, the post isn't what makes people like it. Sure, people like it because they can relate somehow or find it funny or whatever, but it's usually the popular people who gets heaps of likes. Not saying obviously you're not popular, I mean, you know what I meann.

"...you may envy Napoleon, but Napoleon envied Caesar, Caesar envied Alexander, and Alexander, I daresay, envied Hercules, who never existed.”

“Envy is a symptom of lack of appreciation of our own uniqueness and self worth. Each of us has something to give that no one else has.”

“Envy is the art of counting the other fellow's blessings instead of your own.”
