Why can't bronies take criticism? - dawg - 12-08-2012 05:46 PM

I've noticed that My Little Pony fans, or "Bronies", can't take any form of criticism about their behavior or about the television show itself. This was especially evident when Howard Stern did his bit on MLP and when Mike Nelson from MST3K made a brony joke, and they were both harassed by thousands of bronies on Twitter. Why is this the case?

That is not the case. I could care less about what somebody has to criticise.

I'm not familiar with any jokes, nor the aftershock, but even before these, bronies have put up with enough pointless spite. It's nobody's place to judge what us bronies watch, and even more pathetic that some people devote all of their time to hating on us (Yes, there are people that do this). Don't get me wrong, a lot of bronies are annoying, i will not deny. Do you think you've had enough of them? HA! No, you haven't seen the true face of these bronies until you join the fandom. Most of us though, are simply people that watch The show, My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic, because it's a genuinely good show, and we get told to kill ourselves for it. For the most part, we can take it, but when well known people go out of their way to humiliate us on false grounds.. well.. i'm sure you can see how we get a bit ticked. Majority of us, myself included, are normally fairly level headed, and do our best to keep the people we know in the fandom in check. People just need to leave us be. We'll deal with the obnoxious people on our own. You guys just manage to attract the annoying ones for some reason.. trust me, it's the minority your dealing with, because yes, thousands, is the minority. I can take criticism just fine. i'm slightly bugged by it, but meh. I've learned to let it go. I know I'm smarter than most of these people, and just kinda go off of that. Just ignore the annoying ones, and take it easy on the normal ones. "Enris Pony, AWAY!!" *Flies off to home in cloudsdale*

Possibly because they are somewhat biased and have developed too much pride in what they watch to accept any negativity towards it.
Seriously, I have an anti-brony page (The Anti-Brony Movement), and you will not believe how people are missing the point on my posts. Rather than justify why they watch a little girl's show, they are telling me how I'm wasting my life hating.
