Posts on Facebook are generally "liked" because they are 1. Funny 2. Relatable 3. Interesting and 4. Because some people are just freaks who like everything a.k.a. Straight likers. Try writing facebook/ twitter posts about something that will grab peoples attention.

FACEBOOK-make your facebook status something enjoyable to read and something that could make someone smile or relate to. You can always use the status mixer that gives you funny status' that many people like. You can also find quotes and put them on your status; being deep always gets you a "like"
TWITTER- All you have to do is tweet tons of people saying follow for follow ? & most times they will. Just make sure they dont have thousands of followers.
