Can they call the cops on if you call them vulgar words on facebook? - parthyindaclub - 12-10-2012 12:49 PM

I was on a message board for facebook that was talking about my football team versus another.

This lady got on and called us a dirty team which led to me replying to and eventually becoming an ugly clash of words.

Can she call the cops on me for cussing her out on facebook?

P.S. I am an injured football player who watched my team beat their team. Their team was good, but I just hate to see fans being ridiculous about things like this.

Of course not. Well, at least in the US i notice the little canadian flag below your question..... but if it's the same there then you can't be arrested for anything you do or say online as long as yu don't steal anything from someone, buy illegal substances, or if that person commits suicide due to what yu said in which case its a grey area. I think you're fine.

cyber bullying is a relatively new charge in the legal world, and is difficult to prove, but it is out there. if she knows who you are personally, she could file a complaint, but it's unlikely that it'd go anywhere. just remember, anything you attach your name to and put on the internet is out of your control.

She can call all she wants. The police will have a good laugh before they hang up on her. The woman may not be aware that there is something called the First Amendment which protects the right of free speech. There are more and more idiots who think that the police are in charge of the Internet.

No criminal charge - though there is room for a civil allegation, which is unlikely.
