What happens when you become a fan of something on Facebook? - My 4 Boys - 12-11-2012 09:09 AM

What sort of personal information from your profile does that "page" suddenly have? Does becoming a fan of something change your privacy settings at all? Do outside websites suddenly gain more information on you? And do pages your friends are fans of automatically have access to all of your information?
I'm just curious.

You just get updates in your feed...no information is given out or anything.

I just went looking for the web site - has an odd name that you would not associate with a people search - can't find it but when I get it I will add it here. On that one site I entered my name and the state I might be found in. What came up along with my information (which they claim is public information because I have entered it somewhere on the internet - maybe even this yahoo site) was facebook pictures that people with the same name have posted. I do not post on facebook so these were not my pictures but I still found it disturbing. Here is one site that may help you protect your information: http://www.squidoo.com/personalInformation
Get back to you when I find that other site name.
