Will my ear piercings combine? - Jasmine - 12-12-2012 05:57 AM

I got my ear pierced age 3, I got one next to it at age 12, and I really wanna get 6g stretchers ( the smallest size )to put In the first hole but I don't want them to come together and make one large holeSad this is a twitter picture of my ears( I'm getting cartilage later on ) and can you tell me if a 6g stretcher will combine the two? I'm not going any larger than 6g though. Opinions?? The picture is at:

it wont rip or anything dont worry i have 2 holes and i have plugs .. thier " 00 " you just have to clean your ears

Most likely, that won't happen. I too got my ears pierced very young, when I was 10,& I also had second & third (and fourth,fifth,etc.-all the way up at one point) holes when I was younger,& took most of them out as I got older. But my second holes are still open because they're the oldest. I have my ears stretched to 9/16" (14mm),& that didn't happen to me.I don't wear anything in my second holes, because they're too close to the edge of the plug. But even though they appear to be close together when I have plugs or tunnels in,they actually have the same amount of skin in between them as before,it just appears that they're close-it's more like it just gets pushed to the side as it gets stretched,if that makes any sense. So you'll be fine,& if you look at photos of people w/stretched ears, alot of times you'll see where a person used to have a second hole,& they don't run together. And you're only going to a 6g,which isn't that large. The actual hole itself doesn't look nearly as large as when you have a plug in there,& a 6g plug is only 4mm. So it'll be fine.

But I'm a bit confused when you say that 6g is the smallest size-are you currently just at a standard size earring? Because you don't want to go from a standard size earring right to a 6g-you'd be skipping quite a few sizes, which can cause tearing. And you can get smaller sizes than a 6g,in plugs and tapers.I'd start out w/ 14g first, then gradually go to each size after that without skipping any.

Chances are it won't close up.

That won't happen, don't worry. One of my second holes is pierced to close to my first one and my ears are at a 0g. They haven't combined. It may be a little trickier to stretch that ear, but not impossible.
