I'm new on Twitter. How do you use Twitter? I have a few people that I am following. Can I send them private messages? How do I send it? What else should I know about Twitter?

To send direct messages simply click "Direct Messages" in the menu navigation at the right where it says @replies, favorites, etc. From there you can send private messages. Twitter is mainly used to provide concise updates about what you are doing and allows you to see what's up with the people that you are following. To reply to someone's tweet, simply type @thatpersonsname in the message box.
