i got an ipod touch and it's been dying faster lately what could be the cause of that ?

Many things could be the issue.
1. The battery is losing it's ability to hold it's charge. If you have it under warranty and it completely breaks, Apple will give a new one for free. If not, then you can buy it for $40-$50 and have apple put it in.
2. You have been watching movies/videos on it more than normally. Videos take a huge amount of battery. Trust me.
3. You have been playing games more. Games like "Hot pursuit" and "Sims 3" take A LOT of battery.
4. Surfing the web/email/facebook take up a decent amount of battery power.
There are some things you can do, though.
If you don't use the email server on the iPod, go into the settings of the email service (in the settings up) and select "never" or "Manual" to stop automatically having emails pushed to you.
If you don't have any apps that require notifications (eg: Textfree, facebook) you can turn notifications off.
If you have your screen bright + backlight on, it can take up a lot of juice, so turn backlight off and keep your iPod dim.
If you don't use wifi on it, turn the wifi off. Most people don't realize, but when wifi is turned on, it's constantly testing to see if it gets a signal (every 5-15 seconds).

it is probably because , you play app , internet , video all make it die faster
or it is because you might be charging it before it is completely dead which weakens the battery .

How old is it?
Try turning off wifi in settings and see if that helps.
