Can sociology be related to market research? - rebelfairy - 12-16-2012 02:03 AM

I have just graduated from univeristy with a major in Sociology.
I'm currently trying look for a permanent job which I hope can be related to Sociology. I'm looking at positions for market research and was wondering how can I convince the company that a Sociology graduate can be considered for a market research job. I'm also open to more suggestions regarding career opportunites for Sociology graduates besides teaching. Thanks!

The research methods used for the primary market research is identical to social science quantitative research methods. If you have a good foundation in methods and statistics, there's nothing holding you back from a career at a market research company.
