Democrats and Republicans both work for the corporate interests. That's why they do this shite.

Be realistic, that is unamerican and nobody would want that

"Be realistic, that is unamerican and nobody would want that"

True, true. But so are the Democrats.

They have to get past the privacy law in the 4th amendment and the states rights law in the 9th amendment. Besides the FBI watches the internet anyway since the sign in of the Patriot Act in 2001, they have an entire division specifically for this.

Why don't the ISPs just delete my emails when I tell them to? Do they really think the 1000th reposting of the dancing 2yo is as important as the other999? Idiot savants can't imagine that people really don'twant to save all the junk others think is cute. The Supreme Court has already gutted the first amendment, declared we have no right to privacy. Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy, Alto and Roberts hate personal freedom but love citizenship for corporations.

You can bet it has bipartisan support.

It isn't "the Democrats." It's Senator Patrick Leahy.

Thanks for alerting us to this. I will write my Senators immediately to let them know I'm against this, and I hope you all do the same.

Wish I knew the bill number.

If anyone here needs this, here is how to contact your Senators:
http://www.contactingthecongress.org/

Sample letter:

Dear Senator _____,

Please vote NO on Senator Patrick Leahy's rewritten bill -- coming up for a vote next week -- that would allow more than 22 agencies (including the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Communications Commission) to access Americans' e-mail, Google Docs files, Facebook wall posts, and Twitter direct messages without a search warrant. It also would give the FBI and Homeland Security more authority, in some circumstances, to gain full access to Internet accounts without notifying either the owner or a judge.

This is unacceptable and in violation of the 4th Amendment. Please protect our rights to privacy.

Thank you,
