How to convince my mom to let me have a twitter account? - tess - 12-17-2012 06:03 AM

See, my mom doesn't want me to get a twitter. She says something about already having a facebook or whatever, and that's enough. I'm 14. She also says its not needed. Alot of things in life aren't need. She didn't need her own little Nook now did she?!

Anyways, the only reason I want it is too participate in Sega's Free Stuff Friday, where they give free toys, posters, etc. away to the lucky winner's who direct message them at the right time.Nothing more than that, is what I want to do. I told this to her too, and she's still pondering.
Is there any advice out there?

Tell her to create one of her own 1st so that she can see it's not as invasive or personal or dangerous as chat rooms... If she allows you to have a facebook account it's daft to not let you have a twitter account and if you don't have a facebook account then twitter is no where near as bad as facebook!!! But to be honest tektites not that good anyway

Twitter is for narcissists. Don't do it. Furthermore, anything you tweet can come back to haunt you down the road.

I would just go ahead and make it. Or make it with your mom and show her that you'll protect your tweets (you should do that) and show her what your going to be doing on twitter. Make sure that you don't tell anyone any of your private information and just be safe.

Have fun on Twitter!

Tweet Tweet! Wink

just go and create one.

be careful of what you tweet though 'coz i sometimes find it funny how people get into fights because of it. lame if you ask me.
