Someone is writing a book with the title of my website, should I contact them? - chadratic - 12-17-2012 06:25 AM I just found out that a fairly well-known author is writing a book with the name of my personal website, email, twitter feed, et c. My question is that my site is more for my clients and friends, and I'm a kind of worried about all of the traffic I might get as a result of sharing a name so should I reach out to the publisher about purchasing my site and stuff from me or just leave it alone? - Sam - 12-17-2012 06:33 AM If you don't have a copyright there's nothing you can do. Most likely nothing you can do. - Ruth C - 12-17-2012 06:33 AM titles are not subject to copyright laws. You might have a case for trademark infringement, but only if you've filed the name as a trademark. either make your website private -- for subscribers only -- or enjoy the increased traffic. |
