there is this new "farmville gifts" application that you can send farmville gifts to your friends but it isnt part of farmville and it doesnt seem like you can actually get the gifts to your farmville account. does it actually work or does it just say you got those gifts and then not do anything with them?

Those are not real applications. They are fake. If you send someone a gift, then someone doesn't receive it.

It does.
You know where it says friend requests, well.. there.
Scroll all the way down, and the gift requests must be there.
