I know there's selective tweets and you put the hastag #fb -- but I'm wondering if there's another alternative to post the tweets wanted on facebook without that. I like to keep my tweets private and selective tweets don't work unless its public /: any suggestions?

No. There is no such feature to keep some messages private or some public on twitter. But in facebook you can keep your status public or private as per your need!
