If you go to their profile, there's a drop down menu—it looks kind of like a cog—and one of the options is to block that user. Also, if you're worried about more people you don't know following you, you can make your profile private. This will require that people who want to follow you will have to request to do so, and you can either give them permission, or ignore their request.
