What is your plan about your life after retirement? - Sam - 12-19-2012 05:33 PM

I am still working (I am now 38 yrs) but wanted to plan for our life after retirement. I would like to request you to share your plan or wish for the same.

I am into software industry now, we have one daughter, we don’t have huge saving and we don’t want luxurious life.
We don’t want to just sit ideal after retirement, we want to keep ourselves busy even after retirement. Currently I have the following things in mind.

1.Work as teacher in school or computer institute (teaching computer related subjects)
2.I am a hobby photographer
3.Wanted to Involve in social work
4.Would like to involve myself into commodity market to keep earning.
5.We don’t want to go back to our native place, we have our own flat @Bangalore but the cost of living is high here, hence we are looking for some peaceful place.
6.We don’t want to get into any business since the stress level would be high.
7.Good, low cost medical facility is important.

Hi,

I am 45 yrs, and I am not planning to retire at all, in a way, I am now leading a retired life. I teach, I do freelancing, I write, and my profession the thing that I do seriously is meditate and think about the spirit in me, not necessarily religious life. Write from my childhood, the question that is haunting me is, how to decide as to what to do, if we do not know, as to why we are here. So, the most important question is 'why are we here' if any activity which will not answer this question, is all pass time.
My suggestion will be, do not plan, just live. Give time to contemplate, for friends, being with people and being with nature. More importantly, ask your wife and kid, as to what they want. Try to satisfy that, that is a challenge by itself.

Best of luck
