Its the program that person used to send the tweet.. kind of like how you can use AIM or MSN or Trillian to send IMs.. everyone has their own preference

Because Twitter is confusing and is for people with no lives except to tell people what you are doing every second of every day.

Because there are many applications out there that allow you to "twitter" when you don't have direct access to twitter. They're usually the names of what application they used to send their twitter messages.

For example, if it says "from txt" the person probably used their cell phone to send a text message to their twitter account and post.

It all depends on where the person posted their tweet from. If they were on their computer when they posted, it will say "web." If they were on some form of twitter application on their phone, it will say that application (UberTwitter, Tweetie, TwitterFon, ect).

it refers to the client or browser add on the person is using.

i.e. web from the website, twitterfox from the firefox add on, twitterberry from the blackberry app etc.

its telling you how the person sent their tweet
some do it via web, mobile, tweetie etc

There are different ways you can update your twitter. From web (twitter.com), text message, phone apps (twidroid, ubertwitter, twitterberry) etc. I use a client called TweetDeck. They are all just different tools to update the same thing.

It all depends on where the people tweeted from.

They can tweet from the web. They can tweet from their iPhone on an app(Tweetie), they can tweet from texts. It all depends.

But that's why there are so many.
