I don't just mean regular photos from the stands, I mean be on the sidelines & take high quality photos as I love making my own wallpapers & I'd love to sell them. Would I have to get a photography job with a newspaper or website?

You need a press pass to be on the sidelines. Not an easy task as they are very limited. These guys / gals use lens that cost thousands...
