Im just not sure that if you do status updates on your cellphone if you have to pay for each message, like a text message? I live in Canada, btw so it might be a little different than the states?

it depends on your plan. all those messages will count as "out of network," though. personally, i have 500 out of network messages a month, so mine are usually free.
