How do you use Twitter? - Anna M - 01-07-2013 11:54 AM

I just need a little help lol. So could you answer the following questions Smile

1. A tweet is like a facebook status right? So if you follow say Justin Beiber and he tweets can you comment or reply to that?

2. Can you send people personal messages? (Like on facebook its an inbox)

3. Say if I tweeted to Justin Beiber, does it show on his main profile?

I sound really stupid for not knowing how to use twitter xD and for the record I don't even like Justin Beiber, I used him because everyone knows him lol

Thanks

A tweet is kind of like a face book status but there are key differences that make it a separate and unique network. When you set up a twitter account it's like a one-way broadcast of your tweets- nobody will see them unless they "follow" you. Now when someone follows you it just means they get to see the tweets you post- unless you choose to follow them back, you will be unable to see what your followers post. The best way to get people to follow you is to just start following a bunch of people you think are interesting and start tweeting- they get notified that you are following them and sometimes they will follow you back (celebrities usually won't)

There is a private mailbox on twitter so you can send individual messages to people you follow. I don't use the private messaging very much because I use twitter as if it were my blog- only the entries are super short.

So, instead of like facebook, which is a two way social network, twitter is mainly a one way broadcast. Hope I helped!

1) Yes except anybody can see it and it is public
2) yes you can send personal messages
3) you have to tweet him using @<his id> then it will visible to everyone.
