I have no idea. The hash-tag is used on twitter so maybe people have gotten used to it and started doing it on Facebook? But hash-tagging is for Twitter.

Yes, hash tag is for Twitter; it's not for Facebook and dedicated users don't use it on fb.

Yes, hashtaging is for twitter. However many people have synced their twitter with facebook. So when they tweet with a hashtag, it also comes as a status update on facebook.

at first wasnt for twitter
it was for nobody
but then many users started using it
and then twitter took it
why do people use it on facebook
cause they still think they are on twitter or something
