what does the hastag(#) mean on twitter? i see it all the time under peoples statuses and i still dont understand it. also whats the different between using @ and #? thanks

Hash-tags are about trends on twitter, so if you put say, #yawn you it will come us as a link and you can click on it and you will be able to see who else has put #yawn
and as for the @ you have that infront of peoples accounts names
not really sure why thoughxD
