I'm a programmer at a fairly large company and I have both Twitter and Facebook account. Recently my boss got on facebook and Twitter and she's been friending all of us.

I would not let your boss be a friend of yours on FB or Twitter. It is your personal life, and they don't need to know about it.

My boss and some co-workers are my friends. Although I don't want them to see my personal stuff, so I block them from anything I post like status or comments, and also some pictures. They can only see my info basically, and no wall posts. That way you can still be friends with them, and not reject them cause that wouldn't score you many brownie points.
