for example, i have been searching a famous persons twitter lately. now on every apple computer we have, it pops up on the yahoo search as i am typing in the persons twitter. this also does it with a lot of my other searches. how do i stop this

It sounds like you may be referring to the Yahoo! "Search Direct" feature. To learn more about Search Direct, including how you can disable the feature, please see the following Help article:
