How can I bring an iPhone4 into New York from Toronto? - Jim - 01-16-2013 09:29 AM

Hey, I have an iPhone 4 and I am curious to know how I can bring my iPhone into buffalo from Toronto while still being able to text, but not use Facebook,Twitter, etc. I know to turn off data roaming but is there a way to bring it while not being charged. I'm currently with Rogers. Thanks Smile

Yes you can.

The best way to bring it is to carry it.

Going to the USA, or even close to the water in Niagara Falls, be very, very careful. They will serve you from a US site and charge enormous fees.

A telephone call, coming or going is $ 1.75/min.

Data roaming fees can be $ 100/h (ONEHUNDRED DOLLARS PER HOUR)

Outgoing SMS will cost about $ 1.00 ea, Incoming SMS to your regular number may cost 50 c or even be free, depending on your Rogars plan.

Switch off EVERYTHING in your phone, use http://www.skype.com and do all your SMS sending via them when in a WiFi zone - there are lots of them in Buffalo. (Just ask for the password in restaurants, etc.) With skype you can also call to almost all telephones in the world for about 2 c/min.

Skype will charge 10 cents per SMS to any phone in the world.
