How can I bring an iPhone4 into New York from Toronto? - Jim - 01-16-2013 09:29 AM Hey, I have an iPhone 4 and I am curious to know how I can bring my iPhone into buffalo from Toronto while still being able to text, but not use Facebook,Twitter, etc. I know to turn off data roaming but is there a way to bring it while not being charged. I'm currently with Rogers. Thanks - Stewart Johnston - 01-16-2013 09:38 AM Yes you can. The best way to bring it is to carry it. - Ben Jones - 01-16-2013 09:39 AM Going to the USA, or even close to the water in Niagara Falls, be very, very careful. They will serve you from a US site and charge enormous fees. A telephone call, coming or going is $ 1.75/min. Data roaming fees can be $ 100/h (ONEHUNDRED DOLLARS PER HOUR) Outgoing SMS will cost about $ 1.00 ea, Incoming SMS to your regular number may cost 50 c or even be free, depending on your Rogars plan. Switch off EVERYTHING in your phone, use http://www.skype.com and do all your SMS sending via them when in a WiFi zone - there are lots of them in Buffalo. (Just ask for the password in restaurants, etc.) With skype you can also call to almost all telephones in the world for about 2 c/min. Skype will charge 10 cents per SMS to any phone in the world. |
