I've seen people do it before and I'm stunned since the "Update" button usually becomes disabled after 140 but my friend just posted 141 from the web. Although, the rest was replaced with a "..." which linked to the full twitter update.

Should be no reason to post a tweet with more than 140. I am on my patio !!!! .. Come on

but if you do it from a txt you can. and it will be replaced with "..." like you had said.
