Imam Al-Sajjad was one of the 12 Imams (as). Al-Sajjad is his title but his name is Ali, he was the son of Imam Hussein (as), and Hussein was the son of Ali ibn abi Taleb, cousin of prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and Hussein's mother was Muhammad's daughter Fatima (as). He was known for worshiping Allah quite much, a sign on his forehead remained because of how much he performed the Sojood (prostration), hence his title "Al-Sajjad" (meaning " The Prostrator"). Of course, he was an Imam, and all Imams (as) had the highest morals, were most eloquent in speaking and had the most knowledge between people, that's why he was an important person.

reason why you didn't have any answer is because most Muslims here are Sunni, they have no idea and/or couldn't care less about Imams (as).
