Its not like you get an alert when someone writes to you. So far only way i know is to go to the search bar and type my twitter name and the results are every tweet including my name but surely theres an easier way no?

I only use twitter on my phone so I don't know if it appears on normal twitter but there should be a button near the messages button called mentions.
If you click on that you will see any tweets people have put to you or about you starting with the most recent, hope this helps
