Why do they feel the need to do this? What did the short guys ever do to them?
ELANA - If you are fat the solution is simple...LOSE SOME WEIGHT! Go for a run and eat less so you are NOT fat. It's not rocket science, and yet many women still fail. So, what do you want short men to do? Have surgery to make themselves taller? Stand on their tippy-toes? Do you understand the logical fallacy in your example?

I guess sometimes free speech is bumpy. Some day they too will be the target of ridicule.

No worse than men tirading on fat women ...

EDIT: Have you ever tried to lose a significant amount of weight? Until you have tried, don't make such ludicrous statements as "The solution is simple ... LOSE SOME WEIGHT!". There is a multi-billion dollar industry based around the "simplicity" of that statement.

There are all kinds of confounding factors (thyroid issues, musculature issues, etc), and yes, psych issues.

No, I'm not saying that it is is kind or fair of women to be silly about men's height's, but it isn't kind or fair to be silly about anyone's weight either. Those of us in the medical industry who deal with people who are chronically obese know that the issue is far more complex than just an issue of will power.

People are not kind to each other. Do you seriously need other examples of how men are not kind to women? Measuring breast sizes? Butts are too big, too small ... too far up, too far down ... Yes, insulting them because they are too TALL? Their skin isn't clear enough, their hair isn't shiny enough ...

There is a multi-billion dollar makeup industry to deal with women's insecurities about how they look (though granted, it is now self fueled - women are now so paranoid about how they look, its pretty clear it isn't just that they are worried about how men will perceive them, they are now MORE worried about how other women will perceive them).

But get off your high horse. Sure, height might be a sore point for you - but there are lots of sore points out there.
